Adina provides technical communication training for individuals, communities, and companies both face-to-face and virtually using different online meeting tools. Like in our other work, we customise the trainings according to the needs and wishes of the customer. We give trainings in both Finnish and English and can also do less common tech comms languages such as French. Check out our current training portfolio.

Technical communication and technical writing basics

We train technical communication and technical writing skills to both technical writers and other interested people in different language and UX professions. We also train people who need to write technical texts in their work but who aren’t professional writers (and not necessarily even that interested in writing).

Writing technical texts in English

In this one day workshop we study how to write good technical texts in English.

The training is suitable for those in the technical communication business who want to improve their texts. The training can also be arranged for people who haven’t been doing technical writing but are interested in the topic and want to improve their own writing or know-how or are even thinking about a career change.

Minimalism

In this half-day training we learn about minimalism. We’ll cover topics such as what is minimalism, why would you use it, and how does it work together with other technical communication best practises.

Improving the quality of your technical texts

This one-day workshop focuses on quality. We’ll spend the morning discussing the different quality criteria for texts and in the afternoon, we’ll concentrate on the attendees’ own texts.

The training is suitable for those in the technical communication business who want to improve the quality of their texts, but also for those non-professional writers who must write technical texts in their work .

Simplified Technical English

This one day workshop concentrates on the Simplified Technical English specification. We’ll cover topics such as what is STE, why would you use it, and how would you apply it in your own work.

DITA

DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) is one of the most popular and efficient ways to produce technical documentation. Adina’s Indi was already involved in the development of DITA before its 1.0 version and even Laura’s been living the DITA life for 9 years. In this two-day training we’ll cover skills and steps required to do project management in a documentation project. The training is built on our PMI background but especially on the practical know-how we’ve accumulated in the 10+ years we’ve been doing documentation project management.

In this one-day training we’ll cover the look & feel of information from typography to layout and discuss how the co-operation of text and image on paper becomes digital. The training includes both theory and practical examples, but no tool training to do visualisation.
